The Education for Sustainability Winter Immersion is for those wishing to dive deeply into their practice and learn in a residential, retreat-like setting. We’ll be focusing on the intersection of education for sustainability (EFS) and ethnography; exploring ways to engage students in meaningful learning that results in improved quality of life in communities. Participants should have a foundation in EFS, ethnography and curriculum development strategies. The immersion has a design studio feel with participants self-directing much of their work with inspirational speakers and workshops/explore times. This course is very action oriented with an expectation at the end that each participant has a project or curriculum to implement.
This program begins at 5:00PM on Thursday, March 23rd and ends at 4:00PM on Saturday, March 25th. This program is residential.
This program is presented by Shelburne Farms and Vermont Folklife Center.
Tuition for the Education for Sustainability Winter Immersion is $375.00. Scholarships available. Please contact Jen Cirillo at jcirillo@shelburnefarms.org.
