We always had parties on the third floor, and that would involve filling up a bathtub or two with ice, beer—compliments of us—and everybody would go up. And it was a very mixed crowd who had husbands and wives. You had girls and men. You had the boys and the girls together. And it would start after the bar closed and it would go till the sun just about came up. And in the morning I'd go up to clean up the bottles. As far as the eye could see up and down that third floor hall, there was nothing but empty beer bottles and ashtrays. And everybody had a wonderful time. And, I mean, you'd go up and down, anybody wanted a party would leave their bed, their bedroom door open a little bit. And it was a welcome sign. Welcome for a good time. I would say good time was had by all. — John Moisis
